Supporting working parents

We know it can be difficult to balance work and family life. In fact, according to research, one in three parents report conflict between their work and family roles (Perkins, 2016). As part of its commitment to supporting staff wellbeing at ACU, we’ve partnered with our Employee Assistance Program provider to deliver the Supporting Working Parents seminar.

The seminar addresses the challenges and benefits of being a working parent, helps to understand the impact of high stress levels on parenting and identifies practical strategies and skills to manage these competing roles.

Session outline

The seminar will be delivered by a representative from our Employee Assistance Program, AccessEAP and will cover:

  • Challenges faced by working parents
  • Stress and working parents – current evidence
  • How does stress impact your parenting?
  • Identify your stress signature
  • Strategies and tips to assist with the juggle
  • Self-care strategies
  • Accessing further support

Who should attend?

The seminar is directed at working parents but may also be of interest to anyone wanting to learn more about how to support the working parents in their lives.
