The Academic Promotions Review Project: Background and progress to date
The Academic Promotions Governance Group has carriage of the review process, which aims to refresh and strengthen the promotions policy and processes to achieve transparency, consistency and consideration of achievement relative to opportunity, aligned with ACU’s mission and strategic intent. The review has included:
- a discovery phase involving:
- the establishment of the Academic Promotions Advisory Group consisting of a representative group of academic staff across academic levels and discipline areas which meets regularly and provides input and feedback that has informed the review
- the formation of working groups that have been reviewing the evidence and criteria relevant to each academic career pathway and have developed the revised draft Promotions Criteria and Evidence Guides for:
- the implementation of a number of changes for the 2022 promotions process. Further changes are proposed for 2023, which you can read more about here.
