Zoom cloud recordings older than six months will be deleted from July 1, 2022. You can use Echo360 to store your recordings indefinitely.
Zoom allows recording of sessions to either the host's local computer or to the cloud. In most instances, when a host opts to record to the cloud, a copy of the recording is also saved automatically into the host's Echo360 library.
For teaching purposes, Echo360 should be used as the repository for students to access their online videos. ACU has limited online storage available for Zoom recordings but unlimited space in the Echo360 repository.
To ensure ACU does not exceed its capacity, any videos created more than six months ago that are stored in Zoom's cloud will be deleted. This will begin on Friday 1 July 2022. After 1 July 2022, these deletions will happen automatically when a video becomes older than 6 months.
Recordings stored in Echo360 will not be deleted and will stay indefinitely.
If you have Zoom cloud recordings that you need to keep, please ensure that a copy is stored in your Echo360 library. This should happen automatically. It is good practice to rename the recording in Echo360 when it is created to something sensible so that it is easy to find and use in the future. Use the unit short code and a short description in the name.
As above, ensure recordings are stored in Echo360 and use the Echo360 link when sharing recordings in LEO units.
