Everyone has an equal right to education. But with ACU’s student population doubling in the past eight years, we need your help to fund more scholarships and to create opportunities for those who would otherwise find university out of reach.

Staff giving provides an opportunity for staff to support scholarships and community engagement activities through pre-tax payroll deductions. Moreover, every gift you make is matched by the University, dollar for dollar, so your impact is doubled.

Who can give

Staff giving is available to all continuing and fixed-term ACU staff. If you would like to set up, renew or cancel your staff giving, visit the ACU Staff site at the link below.

If you are not a continuing or fixed-term staff member but would like to support the Creating Opportunity Fund and community engagement activities, you can give now through the ACU online donation form. These gifts are not pre-tax and you will receive a tax receipt.

Staff giving opportunities

Staff can support the following activities through staff giving:

• Student Hardship Fund provides critical financial aid with a $1,200 grant for ACU students who are suffering unexpected and severe financial hardship due to stressful situations, including loss of employment, housing or food security.
• Creating Opportunity Fund offers equity scholarships to students facing financial and other hardships, who may otherwise not have the chance to access higher education. This endowed fund aims to double the number of scholarships available to students over the next five years.
• Future in Youth program East Timor helps young East Timorese teachers and coaches from over 16 schools participate in Physical Education teacher training provided by ACU staff and students. The program also gives 42 teams the opportunity to participate in an after school football program based on fun, fairness and respect. These life-skills are transferred off-field into the broader community.

How staff giving works

Your donations will be deducted from your salary starting the next available pay. You will receive details of your fortnightly contributions on your ACU pay slip and a summary of financial year contributions is available in Staff Connect.

The University will match your gift and the opportunity you choose to support, dollar for dollar. This is the power of the common good in action.
