ACU’s is proud to have received the Employer of Choice for Gender Equality Citation by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) for 12 consecutive years. In 2022, we were one of 120 Australian organisations to be publicly recognised for our commitment to leading-practice policy and initiatives to enhance gender equality outcomes. We will continue to progress through our new Framework and Action Plan and by undergoing a rigorous self-assessment process required to complete the Athena SWAN Bronze Award application.

Learn more about ACU’s commitment to Gender Equality and Inclusion from the Provost, Professor Meg Stuart when she recently spoke at the HEDx Live Event that focussed on Gender Equity and Inclusion.

Gender Equality Plans

ACU’s commitment to gender equality, diversity and inclusion is aligned with our mission and values, which embed consideration for the dignity of the human person and the common good in all we do. This approach supports our continued efforts to provide an inclusive and respectful working and learning environment that supports all individuals to reach their potential.

These principals have underpinned the development of our new Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) Framework and Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP), which build on our previous achievements to support our continued progress. Our approach has expanded to consider factors that intersect with gender to create barriers to success.

The GEDI Framework and GEAP were developed using an evidence-based approach that involved the analysis of a range of relevant workforce data metrics and the results of the 2021 GEDI survey completed by over 1,000 staff. Further feedback was gathered through written submissions and consultation sessions held in September 2021 and February 2022. Find out more about how your feedback has informed the GEDI Framework and GEAP here.

Have your say

Our approach to gender equality, diversity and inclusion will continue to evolve over time to meet the university’s changing needs and ensure our continued progress in achieving our gender equality, diversity and inclusion objectives.

Please take the time to review the GEDI Framework and GEAP and provide your feedback to continue the open dialogue around gender equality, diversity and inclusion at ACU.

You can provide your feedback by completing an online feedback form.
