ACU will be putting a spotlight on the achievements of women on 8 and 9 March when we join in the global festivities marking International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day is a global event highlighting the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call on the masses to help forge a more inclusive, gender equal world.
We’re now in our third year of hosting International Women’s Day events and this year have breakfasts planned across five of our campus on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 March.
Some of ACU’s most senior female staff will host these events and notable alumni guest speakers will share their stories on how they are making a difference in their fields.
This year’s group of inspiring speakers will include Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Adorn Cosmetics, Briony Kennedy, Nurse, Midwife and 2017 recipient of the Florence Nightingale Medal for exceptional courage and devotion to the sick, wounded or disabled in conflict and disaster zones, Ruth Jebb, and Chief Executive Officer of Loreto Ministries Australia and South East Asia, Cate Sydes.
Following a great turn out from staff at the 2017 events, we invite and encourage all ACU staff to attend an International Women’s Day breakfast on 8 or 9 March and join in the celebrations.
