The University will be closed from Saturday 23 December to Monday 1 January 2018 (inclusive). In NSW the University is closed for an additional day, Friday 22 December, in lieu of the Bank Holiday.
Affect on Payroll Processing Dates
Due to the University closure, there is a need to adjust the normal deadlines for the submission of salary payment documentation, (e.g. timesheets and other salary claim forms) and termination documentation (e.g. resignations, fixed-term contract end). To enable timely processing of payments over the Christmas period, it is important that all staff and supervisors are aware of the following deadlines:
Payment | Pay Period Ending | Due date for all documentation (eg timesheets & other claims) | Salary Payment Date |
---|---|---|---|
Annual Leave Loading (for eligible staff) | Calendar year 2017 | N/A | Wednesday 20 December 2017 |
Fortnightly Salary | Friday 15 December 2017 | 5pm Tuesday 12 December 2017 | Wednesday 20 December 2017 |
Fortnightly Salary | Friday 29 December 2017 | 5pm Monday 18 December 2017 | Wednesday 3 January 2018 |
Fortnightly Salary | Friday 12 January 2018 | 5pm Thursday 11 January 2018 | Wednesday 17 January 2018 |
Terminations and contract end | up to Friday 15 December 2017 | - | Friday 22 December 2017 |
Terminations and contract end | up to Friday 29 December 2017 | - | Saturday 6 January 2018 |
Due to the University closedown, it will not be possible to process payments received after the published deadlines, nor process any requests for manual payments.
Human Resources during the period 22 December 2017 – 1 January 2018
Human Resources (HR) will be closed from Friday 22 December 2017 to Monday 1 January 2018 (inclusive) in NSW and from Monday 25 December 2016 to Monday 1 January 2018 (inclusive) in other states. HR in all states will re-open on Tuesday 2 January 2018.
Recruitment timelines to be aware of
As the University moves into the December/January period the external candidate market tends to ‘slow down’, and attracting and engaging suitable candidates for ACU’s employment opportunities can be challenging.
The Recruitment Services team in HR can assist Hiring Managers in providing advice on the optimum time to recruit to secure the best candidate for your role. For the team to both deliver a timely offer to a future staff member and receive confirmation of acceptance of offer prior to Christmas, all recruitment outcome approvals should be with Recruitment Services by Monday 11 December 2017.
If you would like to discuss your recruitment planning and needs please contact Recruitment Services by emailing: recruitment@acu.edu.au.
