Pause and make a difference - Census night is August 9

Census image

Millions of people across the nation will be helping to show what Australia looks like in 2016 by completing the Census on Tuesday 9 August.  The Census of Population and Housing will be conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and captures a snapshot picture of Australian life, where we live and how we’re changing as a nation. Census data is used to inform policy and planning initiatives, such as estimating population growth and forecasting government spending needs.

One of the outcomes from census data is the refreshed mapping of socioeconomic status (SES) regions that ACU use in our student data reporting and benchmarking.

Make sure you’re ready for Census night by visiting the Census website.
