ACU’s busy season of Open Days is about to start with our first in Brisbane on Saturday, 25 July. Open Days play a critical role in delivering the student recruitment plan that helps us achieve our student load.
ACU Open Days are the largest individual student recruitment events and promotional tool for potential Semester One intake of students. Staff play a critical role in converting prospective student interest to enrollments by providing information and showcasing ACU.
We have invested heavily towards improving the reach of the events and the impact they make in convincing students to make us their preferred University. We have introduced a number of improvements that will help our staff, student volunteers and ambassadors work together to make the day a success.
We acknowledge that the demands of the day require good hydration and fuel, so local organising committees are aware of the arrangements put in place for all ACU staff, ACU student volunteers and ACU ambassadors to access complimentary quality lunches on the day.
Finally, to all staff who are working on Open Day, your time will count towards your normal working hours in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement. For academic staff this is within your annual allocation and for professional staff this will either be paid overtime or time in lieu and at the appropriate penalty rates.
Already we are seeing a great sense of excitement build as we make our final plans for the Open Days. Our senior staff will be out and about engaging with staff and visitors, and may even try their hand at the digital activation game “great ACU race". We have a record number of student volunteers signed up to assist, and so far it looks like a record number of staff are also working on the day. We very much look forward to joining you on the day to showcase the best that ACU has to offer.
