Use this guide if you would like to create a unit from a template, starting from scratch with NO existing content, but not link the unit to a student Banner cohort. Students WILL NOT be enrolled in this unit.

1. From the LEO Homepage, click the Create new or copy unit link in the Unit creation block.
2. On the Unit Creation page, firstly:
   • Select the Create a new unit option.
   • Select your Faculty from the dropdown list.
3. Then a list of templates will appear below. For the template you wish to use, click the Choose button:
   
4. Under the Banner unit? heading, select No.
5. Under the New unit details heading, modify the Full name, Short name and Start date fields as appropriate.
   • If you are making a sandbox unit, name it appropriately, such as "Your Name Sandbox". This title must be unique in LEO.
   • The Short name should be descriptive, but short enough to fit in the title breadcrumb links.
   • You can set the Start date to the current day to make it immediately visible to you.
6. When finished, click the Create button to create the unit. This can take some time to complete, and will take you to the settings page for the unit when finished.
7. Adjust your unit settings as required, then click the Save and display button.
