Embedding Indigenous knowings

sandsmall Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within the Australian Catholic University curriculum will enhance the educational experiences of all students. If done in a culturally appropriate way it will provide our graduates with an up-to-date understanding of Australia’s history and culture. Some of our histories are hidden and not discussed, while others are open and shared. There is a need for ACU lecturers to teach both Indigenous and western knowledges with the intent of giving all graduates the skills needed to engage with Indigenous communities so to offer culturally safe services to their clients upon graduation.

The following suite of videos outline why there is a need to embed First Peoples perspectives within the ACU curriculum. They also highlight culturally appropriate ways of teaching Indigenous perspectives across ACU curricula.
