The Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA) is an independent statutory authority established in 2011, which regulates and assures the quality of Australia’s large, diverse and complex higher education sector.
TEQSA registers and evaluates the performance of higher education providers against the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF) – specifically, the Threshold Standards, which all providers must meet in order to enter and remain within Australia’s higher education system.
ACU received its renewal of registration from the TEQSA for the maximum period of seven years until 30 July 2022.
The new Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015 will apply from 1 January 2017. From this date, all registered providers of higher education in or from Australia must meet and continue to meet the requirements of the new HESF.
The University has developed a HESF Implementation Plan to assure and support its compliance with all requirements of the new HESF by December 2016. The Implementation Plan will lead into the formation of an ongoing Assurance Plan to be maintained during the entire term of ACU's Registration with TEQSA.
